A few of our young parents shared with us how they felt physically and emotionally just after giving birth to their children.

Here are the highlights from this vlog about feelings after giving birth:

“When I had just gave birth I felt I was fine, completely normal and back to myself. But it was only after a couple of weeks that I felt all over the place.”

It was unreal it, I just didn’t feel like he was actually here. I had gone from being myself and being pregnant to having a baby to look after. It’s just the best feeling ever, I would through it over and over again. If I didn’t have to have kids after, two is perfectly fine!

When I had just gave birth I felt I was fine, completely normal and back to myself. But it was only after a couple of weeks that I felt all over the place. I was a totally different person. I felt like all kerfuffled and discombobulated.

What was your immediate feeling right after you gave birth? (7:50)
It was really nice. It’s hard to describe really, it was just a beautiful feeling to hold your child for the first time. It’s just a love you’ve never felt before.

Cheree

When like she or he is in your arms, it’s like your whole world just changes and stops and it’s like, you have this live human that you made in your hands – and your partner made but mostly you – in your hands and it’s like the best feeling in the world by far. I haven’t really lived life yet but I am pretty adamant that that will be the best feeling.

Tired but relief that it was over, that she was finally here. Not gonna have a big stomach any more with something moving around inside and just yeah, relief.
