It was a very long pregnancy. I had gestational diabetes so it was very hard to cope. I was very ill during the pregnancy. She wasn’t moving a lot so I was up and down for hospital appointments. After I had a car crash at eight months, they told me they were gonna to induce me. So on the Sunday I went into hospital. The Monday they started the inducing period and then I had to wait until Friday because nothing was working but they needed to get her out. Because of my age they didn’t want to do a c-section, so I had to wait all week for a doctor to come and see me to say, ‘actually we’re gonna do the c-section’. So she came on Friday night after I started being induced on the Monday.
100% she was worth it. We were literally in hospital for seven days before she come. So, each day was like ‘is she gonna come today?’ but when she did…even just sort of lying there, they lifted her up and she didn’t cry. That initial scream, as much as that sounds horrible, that is the best but then afterwards, my sister was with me and she just sort of held her next to me. The tears were just coming down my face that I couldn’t actually believe that she was inside me a matter of minutes ago. She definitely was worth it.
