You may have received a baby nest or pod as a gift or through a family member or friend. Or perhaps you have bought one first or second hand and are asking yourself the question: should I use a baby nest or baby pod?
Should I use a baby nest or baby pod?
Pods or nests are a softer type of sleep surface. They are sometimes used instead of or in addition to a mattress, with areas that are raised or cushioned.
Babies shouldn’t lie on or have anything soft around them. Lying on a raised softer surface or having something cushioning your baby’s head can increase the risks of SIDS. This is because it can cause your baby to overheat.
Soft and cushioned materials can also cover your baby’s mouth and nose if they press against it.
