- The Lullaby Trust, the charity that Little Lullaby is a part of, has developed Baby Check, a free app that helps parents test their baby for different signs of illness and determine how unwell they are.
- The app includes 19 super simple symptom checks. It then calculates a final score that indicates how unwell a baby is and advises parents whether they need to see a doctor. It was developed in partnership with Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, trialled in 2015 and after great success is now recommended by a number of NHS Trusts! Baby Check has recently been redeveloped to make it even easier for parents to use.
Young mum at 18, Ellie, has two sons and after testing the app she said: “Having something in your pocket that you can pick up and turn to when you’re unsure about your baby’s health is really great.” She also described the app as “easy to use” and “easy to take in the information”.
Dr Ellie Cannon, a GP and Mail on Sunday health columnist said: “As both a parent and a GP, I understand the anxiety parents experience when their baby is unwell. Baby Check’s easy-to-follow checklist allows parents to identify their baby’s symptoms and confidently decide what level of care is necessary. Baby check is a fantastic resource for any parent who is unsure about their baby’s health.”
